Roberto Cavalli was born in to an artistic family in Italy. He attended a local Art Institute focusing on textile print. Cavalli invented a new printing procedure on leather in the 1970s and received commissions from various high-end designers. He launched his official line in Paris and opening the first boutique in 1972 in Saint-Tropez.
