Loewe Handbags began as a leather shop in 1942 Spain. It was in 1872 when Enrique Roessberg Loewe, a German craftsman, arrived in Madrid and became a partner with the leather shop. In 1892 Loewe was famous in Madrid and become well known as a luxury brand. The brand continued to expand and open stores in the early 1900s; and it is designer Perez de Rozas in 1945 who designed the signature boxcalf bag.
