Hermès originally began as a saddle shop in 1937 Paris by Thierry Hermès. He quickly became a renowned for his work, winning many awards. His company became a family company and evolved to include other leather goods such as carrier bags in the 1900’s. In 1929 the first woman’s apparel collection was designed, and handbags continued to evolve in the 1930’s into what we know today.
