Carlos Falchi began his career when he moved from his native Brazil to New York City and worked in a nightclub. His outfits that he created turned heads among the club’s celebrities and he soon began designing stage costumes. From this he was urged to meet with the buyer for Henri Bendel and show his clothing designs. But when they met it was the handbag that he carried his designs in that caught the buyer’s eye, and she placed an order for handbags then and there. Thus the Carlso Falchi Handbags line was created.
